Progressive overload without the guesswork

Mayhem Coaching Team · 9/23/2026

Progressive overload means doing slightly more over time: one more rep, a little more weight, or one more set.

Pick one lever per week. If you hit the top of your rep range on every set, add the smallest weight jump available next session.

Log every session. The numbers tell you when to push and when to hold.

Every fourth week, drop the load by about 10% and let your body catch up. That deload is where the progress sticks.
